Under 'Integrated Peripherals' settings I had - Onboard Sata Controller - Onboard Sata Mode. I 'solved' the problem with a BIOS change which doesn't make complete sense to me. Any ideas how I might get mini XP into recognising the sata devices? Thanks for the response. Hirens DOS and linux tools see the sata devices fine (as of course does the BIOS). It may be my problem with Hirens mini XP involves the W7 SCSI tag in device manager. It has never affected any software or PC performance so I always ignored it. Windows 7 has always tagged them as SCSI in device management and I've heard this is not uncommon.

Not sure where this question belongs (performance & maintenance tool related to possible hardware/software issues) With Hirens 12.0 and 11 I have had problems with mini XP recognising my Sata HDD and Sata DVD writer. 1 stars 'Just does not work pproperly' FebruHermano muchas gracias por el aporte excelente programa para los amante del pc.
